Final days of winter (hopefully)

Anthropologie poncho [great deal on this one, and this one is perfect for Spring] + boots // Free People overalls // Gap tee [fave in pink, similar, similar]

I have been going a million miles an hour lately, and finally a nasty cold got the best of my depleted immune system. We photographed this look a couple weeks ago when it was consistently cold following our first round of Spring weather, and I wanted to get another wear out of this poncho before it was warm for good. Three weeks later and it's still cold, or cold again... and again, but does anyone else try and get a couple more uses out of seasonal pieces before the transition takes place for good? The key for making it work is in styling, naturally. I lightened the heaviness with a white striped tee, but also lighter tones with the booties. Plus it's been awhile since I've done a mixed prints post, so leopard = a neutral, but the black watch plaid is also a great seasonal neutral in the cooler months, + stripes are the perfect balance.

Good news is, looks like we're getting warm weather again this week. Hopefully this time it sticks. Who am I kidding? It's March in Indiana.

Checks + chinos

Anthropologie top // pants // bag // booties [a little splurgy, but similar] // earrings [gold statement piece]

A huge part of transitioning those super spring pieces is how you outfit them. This blouse will be perfect with white denim or shorts as the weather continues to warm up, but for right now, I paired some deeper hues to make it feel more "wear now." The gray bootie even makes it feel a little darker.

The button-up back details on this top make it feel more special, and these pants are the absolute softest and extremely comfortable. They're technically called a "trouser," and not a "chino" as I alluded to in the title of this post, but they're kind of better. I honestly want to buy them in multiple colors.

For another fabulous Anthro Indy checkered look, be sure to check out the Instagram collaboration this week I just photographed with Alex from the Joe & Alex Show on Radio Now (100.9 if you're in Indy)!

Stepping out

Anthropologie sweater // skirt // shoes [love this cool pair]

This look from Anthro Indy is definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. I adore this sweater, and the skirt is so cool and fashion forward. Embroidered detailing is huge for Spring... stay tuned for more...

Ladybird Shopette + Kindred Boheme Workshop

Photos by Lexi Mathioudakis

For Galentine's Day, Ladybird Shopette [Jacki Johnston] hosted a magical flower crown workshop at the lovely Kindred Boheme, with photography curated by genius Lexi Mathioudakis. Local boss babe trifecta, much?

To celebrate our blossoming friendship, my new gal pal Alex and I tried our hands at floral arranging, and I must say, I fell in love. I love creating, but to play with pretty blooms was an absolute delight. Jacki put together such a stunning environment in the already wonderfully eclectic Kindred space. I am so looking forward to the next event.

See the dress I wore for the event here.
